Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about travelling in Baku and Azerbaijan.
Do I need a visa to visit Azerbaijan?
Most visitors can apply for an e-visa online through the ASAN Visa system, which takes just a few minutes for many nationalities. Always check the latest requirements for your country before you travel.
When is the best time to visit Baku and Azerbaijan?
Spring (April–June) and autumn (September–October) are ideal, with mild weather. Summers are hot in Baku but pleasant in the mountains, and winters are cold with snow at Shahdag.
What currency is used, and can I pay by card?
The local currency is the Azerbaijani manat (AZN). Cards are widely accepted in Baku; it is handy to carry some cash for rural areas and small vendors.
What language is spoken? Will my guide speak English?
Azerbaijani is the official language and Russian is widely understood. Our guides speak English, Russian and Turkish.
How do airport transfers work?
Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign, helps with your luggage and takes you to your destination. We track your flight, so delays are never a problem.
Are your tours private or group?
We offer both. Most tours can be booked privately for your own group or as part of a small group. Contact us for private arrangements.
What's included in the tour price?
Typically comfortable, air-conditioned transport and a professional guide. Entrance fees, meals and optional activities are listed separately on each tour page.
How do I book a tour or transfer?
Book directly on the relevant tour or vehicle page: choose your date and details and confirm. Our team will then follow up to confirm everything.
Is it safe to travel in Azerbaijan?
Azerbaijan is generally very safe for tourists, with low crime and welcoming locals. Our drivers and guides are experienced professionals.
Can you arrange custom or multi-day tours?
Yes. Tell us your interests, dates and group size and we'll build a custom itinerary across Azerbaijan.
